Who can participate?

To participate you must be either an undergraduate in Harvard College, or a Harvard graduate student in GSAS, or one of the professional schools.

What media resources are available if I need help in making my movie?

The Multimedia Lab located in Lamont room A-10 features Mac and Windows equipment for creating, editing, and publishing a wide variety of multimedia projects. Staff are on-site to assist users until 12am from Sunday through Thursday, and until 10pm on Friday and Saturdays. For more information about multimedia resources at Harvard, please visit:

Can I submit movies that I had produced for my classes?

Absolutely! Submissions should, however, be edited to meet the time and copyright regulations explained in the Competition Rules and submission guidelines. All submitted works must be original, and they cannot be resubmissions of works that had been previously entered for the Harvard Shorts competition.
